St Patrick’s Day Festivities

Our society is proud to host San Antonio’s most popular St. Patrick’s Day events. Our 2024 celebration includes:

  • Passport to Ireland
From 1-6pm on Saturday and Sunday, learn about Irish culture and history – and win prizes – through an interactive digital treasure hunt. Crafts, interactive map, bean bag toss, DeLorean display.
  • Wreath Laying Ceremony
Sunday, March 17 at 12 noon. Our annual ceremony at the Alamo in honor of the men of Ireland and Irish America who died there in 1836.
  • Dyeing of the San Antonio River
Both Saturday and Sunday. Environmentally friendly dye brings a festive hue to our city’s famous River.
  • St. Patrick’s Day Street and River Parade
Join us at the River Walk and on the sidewalks downtown.
  • Irish Store
Offering St. Patrick’s Day beads, halos, hats and other festive novelties for purchase.
  • Surprise Visit
Look for an unannounced visit from St Patrick and the Harp and Shamrock’s Lucky Leprechaun during the day!
  • Booths and Vendors
Crafts, food truck and beer for sale!
