Joining our Society
Become a member of Harp & Shamrock Society (HSS) and connect with others who appreciate Irish culture. We offer opportunities for Texans to experience Irish traditions, music, arts, food, dance, sports, scholarships and educational programs.
The Irish role in Texas history is remembered and celebrated through many events, from the only St. Patrick’s Day River Parade in the world to the wreath laying at the Alamo honoring the 35 Irish descendants who fought and died there. The Society is an active member of the Irish community-at-large, partnering with the San Antonio Gaelic Athletic Club, Inishfree School of Irish Dance and the Irish Consulate in Austin to honor the heritage of our past, and make new Irish customs for the future. Scholarships are awarded to students to preserve Irish-Texan history for the next generations.
In true Irish tradition, our values center on the history and customs of family and friends; we love to sing, dance, laugh, tell stories and generally have a good time.
All you need is the spirit of the Irish in your heart to join our family of individuals, businesses and other organizations from the San Antonio area.
