The 2008
Irishman of the Year is Robert (Bob) Slattery, who has been a member
of the Harp and Shamrock Society since 1970. He graduated from Central
Catholic Marianist High Scholl in 1952 and is now class coordinator.Bob
is married to Rebecca Doran. Between them have 8 children, 18 grandchildren
and 2 great-grandchildren. |

The 2008
Cusack Family Award Winner, Mary Jo Quinn. Mary Jo graduated from Ursuline
Academy in 1962 and Incarnate Word College in 1966. She is the Director
of the Credentialing Company of the Bexar County Medical Society. Her
mother, Josephine, a long time acute care nurse at Christus Santa Rosa,
was the first woman named Irishman of the Year in 1976. |

Cusack Family Award Winner, Wayne Faught. Wayne is the treasurer of
the Harp and Shamrock Society of Texas. He is married to Eileen Burke
Faught, daughter of the late Dr. Sean Burke, KSG and Margaret Burke.
Wayne and Eileen have two children, Shannon and Sean. Wayne is also
chairman of the Shamrock Golf Scramble. |

The 2008
Parade Grand Marshal is Bill Sinkin. Bill is the chairman and founder
of Solar San Antonio and an advocate for the use of renewable energy
for both residential and commercial needs in south Texas. Bill and Solar
San Antonio promote solar power and other renewable energy sources in
our community. In his career of local service, he was one of the founders
and first President of both Hemisfair and San Antonio Good Will. |
